[wwwwwwwww]: I tried reading the book of the dead the other day. It was hard to see any patterns in the hieroglyphics, even with the english version beneath. Can anyone here read hieroglyphics? Does anyone know why there are more than one picture-runes for Ra? Thanks for your time

[GriffinDWolf]: The book of the dead isn't really the easiest to read without learning at least some basics in hieroglyphics (can be found by googling). But as for the many different versions of Ra, ra has many differnt things that he is a deity of and can be represented by these things and Ra is often added to the end of another gods name like amun-ra and still means the same thing. Sorta like if you have a sister she could be called Jane, sis, a girl, Joe's sibling ect. I hope that sorta helps cause i think i just confused myself.
